Reference to the letter of the Union of Saudi Chambers No. 45504872, dated 10/28/1445 AH, referring to the General Ports Authority’s letter No. (1/31/70/25836), dated Shawwal 20, 1445 AH, and referring to Authority Circular No. (14) for the year 2022 AD regarding the approval Regulations for practicing the activity of shipping agents, as paragraph (b) of Article Six of the regulations stipulates that “the owner of the goods is obligated to return and deliver the containers to the agent at the location and address specified by the agent, with the agent’s obligation to receive them immediately upon their arrival at the specified location,” and to ensure empty container deliveries in yards. Storage contracted by the shipping agent, and in order not to affect the flow of truck movement in retrieving empty containers in the logistics area and the support area, the Authority confirms the following:1-The shipping agent’s obligation to identify the storage yards contracted with to retrieve empty containers and record them in the files sent to the owners of the goods and the obligation to receive them at the registered locations and not change them.
2- Accelerating the movement of empty containers from contracted storage yards to retrieve empty containers and load them onto ships. Therefore, we hope that the Authority will adhere to what was mentioned above. The Authority also confirms that it receives complaints and comments regarding cases of non-compliance referred to above through its official channels through the Beneficiary Service Center on the unified number (199003) and the Authority’s e-mail (Mawanicare@mawani.gov.sa). ).
