Reference to the letter of the Union of Saudi Chambers No. (45504042) dated 09/01/1445 AH, in which it is indicated that the Union received the General Authority for Ports letter No. (1/31/70/21323) dated 08/19/1445 AH, which included the authority’s confirmation of all tenants in the support areas. Ports must adhere to the following:
1- Do not store dangerous goods (all classifications) in storage yards in the supporting areas of the ports except as permitted in accordance with the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code and related regulations, and after obtaining the approval of the concerned authorities.
2- With regard to direct delivery of dangerous goods, the tenants must deliver them directly, as stated in the Circular on Procedures for Dealing with Dangerous Goods, page (24).
3- Dangerous goods must be marked and numbered in accordance with the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code.4- Preparing a list of dangerous containers in storage yards outside the port, which includes preparing containers and material safety data (MSDS) on an ongoing basis. The responsibility for collecting the necessary accurate information about dangerous goods falls on the shipping agent, and a copy of it is provided to the relevant port administration. Therefore, we will inform you of this for your information and information and to approve the work in accordance with it. In the event of a violation of the procedures referred to above, the necessary legal measures will be taken by the Authority.
