Reference to the letter of the Union of Saudi Chambers No. (45103883) dated 08/19/1445 AH, in which it is indicated that the Union received the General Authority for Transport’s letter No. (4817/45/1) dated 08/17/1445 AH, in which it is referred to the regulations governing the activity of light transport of goods on Roads issued by the decision of His Excellency the Minister of Transport and Logistics Services No. (1693) dated 03/12/1442 AH and its amendments, as well as with reference to the executive regulations for the traffic system issued by the decision of His Royal Highness the Minister of Interior No. (2249) dated 03/10/1441 AH and its amendments.Through the monitoring tours, it was revealed that some restaurants and stores provide (order delivery services) through their own applications, by contracting with unlicensed companies for light transport of goods on the roads and with vehicles not licensed by the Authority, and out of the Authority’s keenness to control the compliance of this activity and improve the quality of service provided to the beneficiaries. The Authority stresses the necessity of restricting the contract to provide the delivery service through (a third party) to companies licensed in the activity of light transport on the roads, and that deliveries must be made using cars on vehicles registered as public transport and holding a valid operating card from the Authority, with the exception of motorcycles until Issuing its own regulations.
