Reference to the letter of the Union of Saudi Chambers No. (45101451) dated 04/01/1445 AH, which referred to the letter of the Ministry of Commerce No. (9897), dated 03/27/1445 AH, and referred to the letter of His Eminence the Grand Mufti of the Kingdom No. (44025480), dated 11/25/ 1444 AH, regarding the writing of Qur’anic verses on gold jewelry and artifacts, and what His Eminence’s speech indicated that “it is feared that this will be used as an amulet, and amulets are forbidden by law,” and what it leads to in terms of disrespecting the Qur’anic verses and using them for purposes other than what they were revealed to him and using them in places of relieving oneself, and in addition to the speech. Ministry No. (06021) dated 04/02/1442 AH, based on the directive of His Royal Highness the Minister of Interior No. (21016) dated 03/17/1407 AH,

What is implied is that the Permanent Committee for Issuing Fatwas studied placing the names and attributes of God (Glory be to Him) and His attributes in various places exposed to disgrace and issued a fatwa prohibiting that out of honor and glorification of the Names of God (Glory be to Him) and His Highness’s desire to adopt that and remove what is there.

Therefore, we hope that you will not make or sell artifacts that contain Qur’anic verses or the Most Beautiful Names of God.

We will inform you of this for your information and information.

Please accept my sincere greetings and appreciation

Acting Secretary-General

Muhammad bin Hussein Qahifa
