Reference to the letter of the Federation of Saudi Chambers No. 44100674 dated 02/23/1444 AH referred to, that the union received the letter of the General Authority for Transport No. (1/44/1839) dated 2/22/1444 AH and referred to in paragraph (6) of Article ( 30) of the regulation regulating the activity of educational transport and to paragraph (6) of Article (36) of the regulation regulating the activity of specialized transport, rental and routing of buses, which states “that the bus conforms to the approved specifications, conditions and technical equipment” for those licensed in educational transport, specialized transport and rental activities and directing buses.” The authority would like to note that it has sought to gradually apply the above, in order to facilitate the licensees in these activities, as it issued the gradual application of the approved technical equipment in two phases in accordance with the requirements of safety priorities, follow-up flights and what the nature of the market requires, according to the following:
The first phase, starting from 01/12/2022 AD:
• Implementation of technical specifications, initial safety requirements and general technical equipment only, with the exception of 2014 vehicles and less, except for the tracking system.
• When a new operating card is issued in the activity, all requirements, conditions, and general and special technical equipment for specialized transport and educational transport are applied (except for the external color of the educational transport activity).
The second phase, starting from 22/06/2023 AD:
When a new operating card is issued in the activity or when it is renewed, all requirements, conditions, and general and private technical equipment that were mentioned in the specifications, conditions and technical equipment for specialized transport and educational transport buses (in addition to the external color) are applied.
The authority wishes to inform the licensed facilities in the educational and transport related activity of this, and the application guides are attached to you. The facilities qualified by the authority to provide bus technical equipment service can be viewed through the authority’s website.
